Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 1, 2025
InDemand Tools ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at https://indemandtools.com (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
We collect personal information only when you voluntarily provide it:
- Account registration: If you create an account, we collect your name and email address. We store a hashed (one-way encrypted) version of your password — we never store passwords in plain text.
- Contact form: When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, and the contents of your message. This information is used solely to respond to your inquiry.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you visit the Site, certain information is collected automatically by our servers and third-party services:
- Log data: IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and date/time of access. This data is used for security, debugging, and aggregate analytics.
- Cookies: We use cookies to maintain login sessions and to support third-party services (see Section 3). You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling certain cookies may affect Site functionality.
- Tool input: Text or data you enter into our tools is processed in your browser or on our servers to produce a result. We do not store tool input or output unless you are logged in and have enabled a history feature (currently not available).
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and improve the Site and its tools.
- Respond to support requests and contact form submissions.
- Send transactional emails (password reset, email verification). We do not send marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in.
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Understand aggregate usage patterns (via Google Analytics) to improve the Site.
- Display relevant advertisements (via Google AdSense) to fund the free tools.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Cookies and Third-Party Services
3.1 Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics collects anonymized data about page views, session duration, referral sources, and device types. This data is aggregated and does not identify individual users. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on .
Google's privacy policy is available at policies.google.com/privacy .
3.2 Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on the Site. AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings .
3.3 Session Cookies
If you create an account and sign in, we set a session cookie to keep you authenticated. This cookie expires when you sign out or after a period of inactivity. It contains no personal information — only a random session identifier.
3.4 CSRF Tokens
We set a short-lived CSRF token cookie to protect form submissions from cross-site request forgery attacks. This is a security measure and contains no personal information.
4. Data Retention
We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal information is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for fraud-prevention purposes. Contact form messages are retained for up to 12 months.
5. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
- Data portability (receive a copy of your data in a machine-readable format).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at our contact page. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
InDemand Tools is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, CSRF protection, and rate limiting. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
